Congratulations to my former colleagues and classmates (and uber gaming geeks) Aaron Apple (in purple) and Lauren Miller (in gold) for being featured in the lead image in The New York Times technology section online today, as pictured above. See the full article here.

Most mornings, I passively watch the Today Show and let Meredith Vieira, Matt Lauer & Co., tell me mostly brainless "news" stories and flavor segments with product plugs. Moos will occasionally comment, "Oh, I like what Ann Curry's wearing today. She looked awful yesterday."
This morning, however, Meredith hosted a segment about unhealthy holiday eating and opened my glassy eyes to a shocking, underreported truth: Starbucks holiday drinks WILL KILL YOU.
OK. That's an exaggeration, but they are terribly unhealthy. I was truly bummed to learn this because I frequent the Starbucks below my office and was going to ask for Starbucks gift cards for Christmas.
I did some research into matter for grande size drinks and the facts are startling:
- Eggnog lattes have 450 calories, 170 fat calories, 18 grams of fat and 49 grams of sugar.
- Peppermint white chocolate mochas have 490 calories, 120 fat calories, 13 grams of fat and 76 grams of sugar.
Keep in mind, these stats are for drinks with non-fat milk. Go with whole milk and there will be a whole lot more of you to love in no time. Check out more Starbucks nutrition facts, or just watch "Supersize Me," but think Starbucks. It's all the same.
So, I encourage everyone to stay away from the festive holiday Starbucks drinks. Or as Katrine would say, "You should be going to Cafe Fiore anyway."
