The Seattle Times published the last of a four-part series titled "Victory and Ruins" yesterday about the apparently corrupt 2000 Husky football team -- the last Husky team to win a Rose Bowl.

The series exhibits phenomenal investigative reporting, and villianizes former players Jerramy Stevens (also a former Seahawk), Jeremiah Pharms, and Curtis Williams, as well as former UW coach and current USC coach Rick Neuheisel and former UW athletic director Barbara Hedges.

Players are accused of violent crimes and coaches are accused of cover-ups. The Seattle Times has received criticism for reporting the story eight years too late and (coincidentally?) publishing the series at the same time the UW is seeking a major renovation of Husky Stadium.

The series in its entirety is a long read, but one I recommend. The value is in learning about the money driven-scandals that continue to poison collegiate sports. Read the series here.

I am working way too much. I knew that was the case, but now I have evidence.

Last night, I got home from work at a decent hour -- 6:30 p.m. I ate a quick, light dinner and headed to my room for a nap (not unusual). I woke up much later at 9:45 p.m. (unusual) and still felt tired. I decided, eh, what the hell, I might as well just keep on sleeping. So I turned back into my comfortable bed and easily hit my slumber stride.

I woke up this morning at 6 a.m. and felt like Julie Andrews on ecstasy. I felt like I could sing, dance, and fly by the handle of an umbrella.

Unfortunately, instead of jumping in and out of Cartoonland or frolicking the mountains of Switzerland, I am only destined to dump all of this refreshed energy back into these long days at work. And here I am again. Boo.

It's official: Scott totally wifed Courtney.

I played my part as best man and kept Scott from passing out.
The bridesmaids were eye candy and outnumbered the groomsmen 7-4, as God intended.
Courtney looked fantastic and survived the Catholic ceremony.
After the wedding and reception, a crew of us headed out to afterparty.
I'll leave you with how I started my toast...

"Hi. My name is Paolo. I'm the best man, and I'm single."

Actual conversation at work:

Paolo: "So when are you interviewing the intern?"
Sherry: "Hopefully on the 29th."
Paolo: "My birthday is March 29th."
Sherry: "Of course, you're an Aries."
Paolo: "What makes you say that? What are my characteristics supposed to be?"
Sherry: "You think too much."
Paolo: "That makes sense, I guess. Abigail, would you say that I fit the Aries profile?"
Abigail: "Oh, totally."
Paolo: "Well, why do you think so?"
Abigail: "There are too many reasons why."
Paolo: "Besides the fact that I'm handsome and charming?"
Abigail: "You've answered your own question."

I've never understood zodiac signs.
