While at Volunteer Park on Capitol Hill yesterday -- testing out a couple high-end lenses I rented for the weekend to shoot a coworker's engagement session -- I struck a photo goldmine.

It's not everyday you run into a large group of guys uniformly dressed like referees.

This was actually a bachelor party for the dude in the white hat. I caught up with them when they first arrived at the park and expressed my appreciation for their great taste in party attire. They soon organized a football game and I started snapping photos.

This morning I took advantage of McDonald's "free latte Friday" promotion to try their attempt at scooping marketshare from Starbucks.

Considering the convenience, I also bought a breakfast sandwich. My total for the latte and sandwich was $2.61. This would have been an $8 purchase at Starbucks. Sure, quality of coffee was nowhere near that of my favorite local cafes, but for a quick drive-thru trip and considering the cost, McDonald's hit the mark.

...Somewhere Howard Schultz trembles...

Now I'm scared.

Clinton is "on track" to raise $10 million in 24 hours.

According to the CNN, Clinton's campaign reported that "over 60,000 donors — 50,000 of them new — have given money to Clinton from Tuesday night through noon Wednesday."

Jon Stewart breaks down Hillary's Pennsylvania win and rationale for continuing her campaign.

"So what it comes down to is, you [Hillary] would win the nomination if Democrats were Republicans."

My inbox was flooded by your thoughts, prayers and concerns for Kenna and Beard after I posted this picture of them passing out clothing sale handbills at Westlake Center last November:

Update: I kicked it with Kenna and Beard last night in Ballard and am happy to report that they've lifted themselves from the bellows of thrift retail and are now working on the Eastside in some kind of semi-legit vacation-pyramid scam. Congrats, Shelter girls!

In honor of Earth Day and courtesy of the WWU Alumni, I'd like to share with you some great ways that WWU has contributed to sustainable living. Be inspired.

  • Western was the first university in the nation to use 100% green power for its electricity source, thanks to a student driven initiative.
  • Built in 2003, the student initiated Wade King Student Recreation Center was the first university recreation center with a pool to be LEED certified (LEED - Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is a voluntary, consensus-based national standard for developing high-performance, sustainable buildings).
  • Founded in 1970, The Huxley College of the Environment was one of the first environmental programs in the nation.
  • Western's Vehicle Research Institute continues to be a world leader in innovative alternatively fueled vehicle design with its latest methane-powered engine
  • Founded in 1971, Western's Recycle Center was one of the first university recycling programs in the nation and is still among the most unique for the fact that it is still student run.
  • Thanks to a student-run initiative last year, all students now receive Whatcom Transportation Authority bus passes when taking a minimum of six credits.

Happy Earth Day!
