W(ho)TF is on WIB? ...Cari

Time to learn more about your fellow WIB readers in this edition of "W(ho)TF is on WIB?" Today we're talking to the girl who's always on a North Bender, even when she's living on the East Coast. She a Britney loyalist and prefers to march in flip flops. It's Cari!

Name/alias: Cari, although you'll often catch people calling me Carl, Flippy or Midge

You can fin
d me online at: flipflopsintherain.wordpress.com

I know Paolo fro
m: WWU when Anna and I would mock fight over him. Of course, then we actually got to know him...

One other blog everyone should read is: Only one? I have 115 in my reader, so this is tricky... I have to give SmugMonkey a shout-out since he convinced me to start blogging in first place, but he rarely posts anymore (sad face). His hilarious archives are definitely worth a perusal though -- blog.alcastle.com. Also, Jeanna always inspires me to start writing again when I get stuck in a rut -- http://www.thatswhatjesaid.com/.

And just in case P lets me cheat and actually branch away from the group you all know and love, here are five of my DC favorites (uh, parental advisory...): http://pithycomments.wordpress.com/; http://www.ihatesomuch.com/; http://whoinventedroses.com/; http://www.livitluvit.com/ and http://lemmonex.com/

One movie everyone should see is: Forgetting Sarah Marshall -- I've watched it every other week for about 6 months now, and it gets better every time.

If I could only eat one type of food for the rest of my life, it would be: Pizza. It's an obsession.

My guiltiest pleasure is: istening to pop music and watching high school TV shows like One Tree Hill and Gossip Girl.

It's Sunday morning at 10 a.m. If I'm not still sleeping, I'm: sitting on the couch, watching movies with my roommates.

When I die, I believe I will go: to a really cozy marshmallow cloud in the sky and sleep for eternity.

When I was a kid, I actually owned: the entire Baby-sitters Club series. I was quite the bookworm.

Quickfire Round:

Facebook or Twitter? Facebook
Electric or Acoustic? Acoustic
White Meat
or Dark Meat? Dark meat. It's better for you.
Early Bird
or Night Owl? Night owl
Snorer or Sleeptalker? Both
Black or Cream and Sugar? Black
Seattle or San Francisco? San Fran (but I miss Seattle and the people there with my whole heart)
Jennifer or Angelina?
I'm a Jen loyalist, although I think Ang's hotter.

Lastly, everyone should know that: only own one cat. Don't let Paolo's crazy-cat-lady comments about me fool you.

My digital Thank You card

THANK YOU to everyone who came to my housewarming/birthday party on Sunday!

I got more presents than I could believe and am now well equipped with tools to work on the house! I am thankful for all of the love, support and attention.

Xoxo,
Paolo

P.S. Pictures:

Looking back at 25

My 25th year has been one of my best so far.

This can most easily measured by my accomplishments:

I started grad school. Go Huskies!

I found Amanda!

I bought a house!

Sure, I've done a heck of a lot more than that, but these are some big milestones and I'm looking forward to hitting more of them when I start year 26 on Sunday. Happy birthday to me!

W(ho)TF is on WIB? ...Gramps

Time to learn more about your fellow WIB readers in this edition of "W(ho)TF is on WIB?" Today we're talking to Palm Desert king, Gramps.

Name/alias: Ron Norton/Gramps

You can fin
d me online at: I'm "low-tech" so I don't connect much with the Internet world.

I know Paolo fro
m: About 45 minutes after birth. He was very vocal and wore a diaper. He doesn't wear diapers anymore.

One other blog everyone should read is: I'm a lousy critic of blogs but my wife and I love Paolo's - a great way to keep current with our slightly kooky but lovable grandson.

One movie everyone should see is: (current) "Mama Mia"; (classic) "Gone With The Wind"

If I could only eat one type of food for the rest of my life, it would be: Waffle, sausage, one egg over easy

My guiltiest pleasure is: Sneaking a maple bar when I'm on a diet.

It's Sunday morning at 10 a.m. If I'm not still sleeping, I'm: Socializing with friends at the Tennis Club.

When I die, I believe I will go: Quietly and confident that there will be another life, possibly as photo editor of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition.

When I was a kid, I actually owned: A 22 rifle and 16 gauge shotgun. My Dad taught me how to use them safely and together we hunted pheasant and ducks.

Quickfire Round:

Facebook or Twitter? Non comprehendo!
Electric or Acoustic? Does an electric shaver count?
White Meat
or Dark Meat? I would never discriminate between the two.
Early Bird
or Night Owl? Early Bird - and I am getting sick and tired of worms for breakfast!
Snorer or Sleeptalker? I once snored a lot until my wife stuck a couple celery stalks up my nostrils.
Black or Cream and Sugar? Only no calorie sweetener (it offsets the calories in my maple bars.)
Seattle or San Francisco? Seattle in the summer, Palm Desert, CA in the winter.
Jennifer or Angelina?
Sorry, but Christie Brinkley is the ONLY goddess!

Lastly, everyone should know that: I am almost 80 years old, of questionable sound mind, still deeply in love with my wonderful wife of almost 49 years, ex-tennis player, current frustrated golfer (aren't we all?), a Mini-Mac Apple player, fan of "Dancing With The Stars," "24", and Grey's Anatomy. It's been a good life - more to come.
