Princesses don't need crowns

(Originally posted at AM|PM) I need only to spend two minutes on Facebook to see that a lot of my friends, most distant, have gotten married or are planning to get married. We're contributing to the norm of people our age. I get that.

What I don't get are these girls who think wearing a crown or tiara with their wedding dresses is a good idea. It's not. I've been to Disneyland. That's where the princesses are. That's the only places where such head ornaments should be permitted. They shouldn't even be allowed in greater Anaheim.

Amanda, I'm all for the veil, the peacock feather, that cage-looking thing, but you are NOT allowed to wear a crown or tiara. I love you. Bye.

Finally finished my final

The beauty of my grad program is that everything is public and transparent, so you too can view my final here. Basically, it's my (first) final draft for the UW Twitter Book. SO glad I'm done... for now.

Here's my fresh profile picture for the book. I think I'll look great in print.

Vibe to new Blue Scholars

I'm feeling the new Blue Scholars material. The EP is called OOF! You can read all about it here and read Andrew Matson's Seattle Times review here. What I love is that it's different from anything else they've done. Cheers to artists being artists. Geo's lyrics are diverse and risky. They range from cheesy and slow to fast, flawed and abstract. He hits his highest highs and lowest lows on this record in terms of quality verse.

The beats are phenomenal and dynamic. What else can you expect from a Sabzi album?

I can sum up the entire album in Geo's words: "It's coo, but it's not what I'm used to."

Finally going crazy during finals week

Well, I held on to sanity as long as I could. Then I lost it last night. Sometimes between work and school and homeownership and everything else that classifies me as an adult, I go coo-coo. Like coo-coo for Cocoa Puffs crazy. Sorry to all of those afflicted and affected.

As I try to get through this finals week and wrap up this damned Twitter Book project, I'd like to entertain you with some fun media I've found on the Internet, which inspires me to continue the grad school trek. It should also explain what all the fuss is about regarding social media. Enjoy!

Wineries Like the Taste of Twitter: The Presentation

Another quarter of UW grad school has come to a close, almost. I still have to complete the final draft of my chapter for the UW Twitter Book. So now you know my weekend plans. For those unfamiliar with the project, you can catch up here.

I gave my final presentation last night in front of a sizable audience of Seattle's social media influencers at the UW. Thanks to the power of technology, you can watch it below. Prepare to be amazed.
