It's so hot here in Palm Desert! The temperatures are hotter than expected, and we're breaking records set 50 to 100 years ago.
I'm packing my bags and getting out of this refrigerator we call the Pacific Northwest.
This, combined with SPF 10,000 suntan lotion, should provide the following result:
Last night, Katrine left me in my hell of back pain to attend an invite-only event at Cafe Vita to drink crappy coffee -- literally.
At the "cupping" (the coffee snob's way of saying "coffee tasting") she drank Kopi Luwak, which is a coffee that is prepared using coffee cherries that have been eaten by an Asian Palm Civet (small monkey-cat hybrid), partially digested, and harvested from its feces.
In fewer words, Katrine drank coffee brewed from beans crapped out by a monkey-cat.
Kopi Luwak is the world's most expensive coffee, retailing between $120 and $600 per pound. That's some expensive shit.
As many of you know, I have been immobile and on strict bed rest since injuring my back running stairs Sunday morning. Thanks to everyone for visiting, emails, cards, flowers, etc.
I got to the doctor this morning and have been diagnosed with severe muscle spasms. Until these drugs kick in, Katrine will remain my on-call butler and I'll make a bigger dent in the couch.
