Upon turning in my final paper today and completing my first quarter of graduate work, I'm feeling reflective and would like to share a few thoughts...

Procrastination never goes out of style. The paper is due at 6 p.m. today. I was up at 5 a.m. this morning to finish writing it. I did the same thing for the last paper. History repeats itself. Ironically, I learned this while cramming for a history final as an undergrad.

You know your spell check is outdated when it doesn't recognize "blogs."
Following the spell check of the nine-page paper, I was stoked to learn that I had no spelling errors, except for "new" words like "blog" and "Facebook."

Homework still sucks.
I dreaded reading for class even if I liked the book. Something about required reading tastes like pennies to me.

I haven't had this much fun since kindergarten.
The last time I was this interested in class I was in kindergarten. Who doesn't love coloring? School is really boring between 1st grade and about your third year of undergrad because most of what you learn is force-fed by educational institutions. Once you choose your major in college, learning becomes interesting again. There's a significant 14-year gap. I'm glad I'm well out of it and am metaphorically coloring in class again.

Today Scott, Courtney, Amanda and I went to a wedding at the Point Defiance Rose Garden and reception at the Tacoma Club.

I danced with the bride's grandmother, Gilda, to David Bowie's "White Wedding." That was awesome. Twas a great time, especially since Courtney volunteered to be designated driver. Thanks Court!

The last 24 hours have been hectic between creating a final project for my Media Economics class that is due Monday and making a seriously quick trip to San Francisco today (try fewer than four hours) to check out venues for a work event I'm planning there for September.

As a result, I had to skip out on last night's big Radiohead concert at the White River Amphitheatre! I had bought tickets for the show for Moos' birthday and passed my ticket off to Katrine. As you can see here, she had no problem keeping Moos entertained before Radiohead's set.

Yes, Katrine is available for hire for birthdays and Bat Mitzvahs.

Sometimes the most simple question is hardest to answer.

"Powder sugar or powdered sugar?"

Without researching, which is the correct name of that sweet baking ingredient? List your answer as a comment for this post.

Update: The correct answer is powdered sugar.

Amanda and I went to Vancouver BC for the weekend and all we came back with were some great pictures...

Sorry I'm so late to post these. Sunday was a little crammed between a long wait at the border, band practice and starting a paper for school at 10 p.m. that was due Monday morning.
