Was a blast!
We kicked things off at Amanda's boss's estate on Hood Canal on Thursday and Friday. Can you say, "private beach"?
On our way back from Hood Canal, we stopped at Port Gamble, a small resort town.
We ate at a tea house, which was Victorian and hilarious.
On Friday night, we rolled up to the Ballard Burrow to catch up with The Wives, Wesley, Matt and Jama'l for a BBQ.
On the Fourth, we picked up the new BBQ (Thanks Gramps and Grams!) and fired it up with Sergio and a few of his friends.
After that, we went to the Tacoma waterfront for the Freedom Fair.
My old friend Shelby reminded me today on Facebook that "Mission Impossible," a tradition of attempts by friends to hook me up, has officially ended now that I'm engaged. I previously detailed Mission Impossible here.
Mission Impossible was, as it turns out, impossible. None of my friends were able to hook me up with the right girl. So, I took it upon myself to trust my reliable friend named The Internet and find Amanda myself. (Scott takes partial credit for the hook-up considering he rounded the funds up for the Match.com account.)
I've had the privilege to be a part of a lot of weddings and engagements over the past couple years: I of course played a part in Nina and David's wedding. I helped Scott get to the alter and threw his epic bachelor party. I shot Cuddy and Kayla's engagement photos.
I just got Amanda's ring back in the mail after a re-size (I was only off by .25 of a size, for the record), so now that she's got the ring on the finger again, I figure I should cross myself off the list of The Greatest Quartet of Bachelors Ever to Step Foot on WWU Campus.
Hi all,
We had a great time in Las Vegas. I won't repeat what's already been said at AM|PM, but you can check out all the pictures below.
I am off to San Jose today for business and will be back in a couple days! Until then...
Tomorrow, Amanda and I depart for a weekend in that whimsical city in the desert -- Las Vegas. It should be a cool 100 degrees in Sin City.
Amanda's never been before, so I hope Vegas makes a good first impression. You may recall that my last trip to Vegas was for Scott's epic bachelor party. That's the beauty of Vegas -- it can be whatever you want it to be. Stuffy work conference? Sure. Romantic getaway? Sure. Fear and Loathing? Sure.
I wish I could have seen The Hangover before the trip to see how Vegas was depicted. Instead I saw the midnight premiere of Transformers 2 last night and didn't get home until 3:30 a.m. Good training for Vegas hours though, right?
Have a great weekend, everyone!
